It's been a tough week in a city I have worked in for over twenty years, but also inspiring to see the city come together. So many acts of heroism overrode one act of cowardice.
Our hearts go out to the victims of such a senseless tragedy.
I work two blocks from the site of the bombings, the memorial site to the victims is outside my office building. My family and I spent the day cheering on my sister-in-law, who ran in the marathon, only to be stopped at 25 miles. This event was much too close to home for far too many of us. A roller coaster of a ride, and one we hope no one should have to experience again.
But like NYC rising above its City of Ruin as Bruce Springsteen lamented, Boston has emerged strong and heroic from this sad tragedy. We won't let this defeat us. We will all run again.
That's the way to Pilgrim Up, New England!
